The Freedom House Recovery Houses are houses for women in the early stages of recovery from drug and alcohol abuse.
Our houses provide a structured enironment where residents can grow in their recovery, while re-establishing a normal life in our community.
men's Sober Houses
There are 3 Freedom House Sober Houses in Pennsylvania. There are two mens sober houses; one in Bucks County and one in Philadelphia.
Women's Sober House
There is also a women's sober house that is located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. These houses offer the support of fellow sober residents while maintaining less struucture than recovery houses.
Freedom House Recovery
Helen Maloney established Freedom House in Recovery houses for women in 1999, when she recognized a lack of recovery houses in the area. After much success with the Freedom House Recovery Houses, she then moved on to provide additional transitional step for those still seeking a structured life in sobriety, and therefore created Freedom House Sober Houses in the area.
All recovery houses admit residents ages 18 and older. Our residents have come from all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. The two common threads connecting all of our residents are that they are women and men in search of recovery.
Our Unique Philosophy
While recovery from addiction is primarily an individual responsibility, nthe program, residents, and culture of Freedom House produces a favorable environment in which people can make lasting changes needed to live a full and productive life.
Our houses have welcomed not only residents local to the area, but also many other areas in the United States. Our long term statistics indicate a success rate among our graduates that exceeds those of comparable facilities.
