"Upon my initial interviewing with several recovery houses in Levittown, I knew after our first phone call that Helen's house was the one most conducive to my recovery. Not only did the house provide dicipline and structure one needs to focus on their recovery, but also the freedom to develop intrapersonal skills and relations with other women one can relate to during these challenging times. Helen has provided compassion and understanding while staying true to my needs and not my wants, proving in the long run to be what was best for me. I could not have asked for anything more while continuing with this ongoing sober life." -- Jennifer

The women are great, and I cant say enough good things about Helen Maloney!!! A women who works a program and stands for recovery without compromise!!! XOXO love ya Hel!!"-- Melissa S.
"In June 2006 I was given the option to move on from treatment to a recovery house, rather than returning home. I was unfamiliar with the concept and, despite much encouragement, was afraid. I reluctantly committed to a 90 day stay at Freedom House (surely I wouldn’t stay that long). Much to my dismay, though, one FULL year later tears streamed down my cheeks as I packed up my bedroom and left the women I came to know as sisters. There, women showed me by example that sobriety was no longer an impossible feat, rather a practical application of steps that was accessible to me. Their support was vital while I attempted to clear past wreckage and tackle new “grown up” challenges. Over time, my fervor for life returned. I left Freedom House with sobriety, purpose, strength and friendship – for all of which I am eternally grateful. " -- Erin K.
"Being in Freedom House for 17 months not only taught me how to maintain long-term sobriety, it also taught me how to live the life of a responsible woman once outside the recovery house, living on my own. Although, in my past, I had known how to care for a household, my addiction robbed me of the ability to be accountable for any daily chore necessary to live in this society. During my stay at Freedom House, I re-learned to do the mundane daily activities, such as make a bed, cook a balanced meal, clean my living area, make doctor’s appointments, when needed, maintenance my car, pay bills, balance a check book, and food shop. I know this seems very silly, but to me, it was a monumental part of my recovery journey. The foundation I built in Freedom House allows me to be the dependable, sober woman I am today. I owe Helen, the girls I met while there, and the house everything for the transformation that took place in me, and am forever grateful."-- Gina
"I've known Helen for 11 years and have the utmost respect and trust in her and how she runs her houses. what I have gotten from being in freedom house is trust in God and the women in AA. The work I have done in 7 months has shown me that I needed to be in a house with women who loved me when I didnt love myself...I will always be grateful to Helen for saving my life and caring just enough when I didnt....Thank you. "After years of trying to get sober and not succeeding, I entered into Helen's recovery house in 2010 after a short stay at a treatment facility. I was so scared and apprehensive about living in a house with other women and was not sure if i wanted to stay. I quickly began to see that the women in the house, as well as Helen, were serious about recovery and it made me really want to give it a try. I was given structure and taught how to deal with problems in my life. The women in the house were all so supportive. I grew to love the women that I lived with and was sad when the day came that it was my time to go. I resided in Helen's house for 17 months and transitioned into her recovery house. I am ever so grateful for Helen and the women in her houses that have helped me to get to where I am today." -- Erin O.
